Monster Hunter Wilds

Monster Hunter Wilds is off to a historic start, smashing Capcom’s records with 8 million copies sold in just three days—making it the company’s fastest-selling game ever. On Steam, it’s already surpassed 1 million concurrent players, proving that anticipation for the 2025 release was well-warranted. With a 90 Metacritic score, it’s shaping up as a GOTY contender, even against heavyweights like GTA 6 which is expected towards the end of the year.
But while the gameplay is winning fans over, technical issues are dragging the experience down. Players are flooding Steam with complaints about crashes, poor optimization, and frame rate dips. Many with high-end rigs report struggles to maintain stable FPS, with one review slamming the game’s performance as “worse than the beta.” Another frustrated player wrote: “If I can run Cyberpunk maxed out, there’s no reason this should run like a PS3 game.”
Despite these issues, Monster Hunter Wilds is dominating the charts, proving once again that Capcom’s monster-slaying formula is unstoppable. Now, all eyes are on whether performance patches can smooth out the rough launch.
