Ghost of Yōtei is coming in 2025

Last weekā€™s PlayStation State of Play had fans buzzing with a major announcement: the next entry in the beloved Ghost of Tsushima series! But plot twistā€”it's not a direct sequel. Instead, Sucker Punch has unveiled Ghost of Yotei, an entirely new adventure set in a different era, featuring a new lead characterā€”Atsu, a female Ronin.

While fans of Jin Sakai might be disappointed, Sucker Punch explained their bold choice. ā€œWe wanted to innovate and explore what it means to be a ā€˜Ghostā€™ beyond Jinā€™s story,ā€ they shared on the PlayStation blog.

Ghost of Yotei is set 300 years after the original game, in 1603 Japan, around the towering Mount Yotei in Ezo (modern-day Hokkaido).

Expect more brutal swordplay, stunning vistas, and a darker, bloodstained landscape.

Release date? 2025.

For now, check out the breathtaking trailer for a taste of whatā€™s coming next.

Game Review

IGN just dropped a 9/10 review for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, praising it as far more than a simple spinoff. Led by Zelda instead of Link, the gameā€™s clever ā€œecho summoningā€ feature blends classic 2D Zelda elementsā€”like dungeons and puzzle-solvingā€”with the creative freedom seen in Tears of the Kingdom.

Though not perfect, with some clunky menu management and less compelling combat, the game is an impressive experiment. IGN called it a ā€œproof of conceptā€ for how future 3D Zeldas could revive the series' roots without losing the creativity introduced in recent titles.
